How do I request time off?


You may request off only through hotschedules. If it is for multiple days, please submit the request together rather than a request for each individual day. If you are unavailable because of an event at only a certain part of the day.. please request off for half of the day, rather than the full day. This will greatly increase your chances of having the request approved.

How do I swap shifts?

Click "swap this shift" on your app once you've selected your shift, find the person you are wanting to swap with and the app will ask them to confirm the swap. Once they do, a manager must confirm the swap. Once this is done, the swap is official.

What do I do if I can’t work a shift?

Release your shift, and call the store immediately. DO NOT text/call a director or manager to let them know. You are responsible for calling the store and verbally speaking with the manager in charge.

How do I release a shift?

Go to your app and click the shift you wish to release.

Click "release this shift".

IMPORTANT: The shift is still your responsibility completely until it is picked up and approved by a manager.

Am I notified if my shift swap/release/pickup is approved?

If you were picking up a shift and it was approved it will now show as a part of your schedule for the week and you should receive a notification. If you were releasing the shift, it will no longer show on your schedule and you will receive a notification. If you swapped a shift, you receive a notification it was approved. Please make sure your notification settings are enabled on the app. 

How do I pick up a shift?

When you are looking at your schedule, on each day it will say if any shifts are available for pickup off to the side. If you wish to pick up a shift, go ahead and click on the shift to pick it up. If a manager confirms the pickup, the shift will be yours. 

Updating Availability

Availability is the one factor that determines how many hours you go, and what you are scheduled. Your availability is literal, so if you are in high school and can only work evenings, but your availability is "wide open", you will be scheduled and held responsible for your wide open availability. 

How do I change/update my availability?

On the hotschedules app click the top 3 horizontal lines on the top left hand side. Click "My Availability", click the + button and put the date you desire this change to take place on. Then make your changes, and be sure to save afterwards.
